How do I care for my cake?
Temperature is very important to cakes! Each of our cakes has a serving temperature indicated, either Room Temperature or Chilled. Room Temperature: Your pastry will taste best at room temperature. This will ensure that the buttercream or ganache is soft, and the cake is at its most flavorful. If you're serving your cake the next day, please keep it cool overnight and allow a few hours before serving for it to come to room temperature.

Why do I have to order a cake a couple days in advance?
We have a very tight baking schedule, with each day carefully-planned in advance. Each baked good is made to order so it's super-fresh for you!

How long will my cake stay fresh?
If cared for properly, your cake will be at its best for at least 1 additional day after purchase. (We don't use preservatives, of course!) If you're hosting an event on Sunday but are having delivery on Saturday, that is fine! Just keep the cake in a cool place overnight, and bring to proper serving temperature the next day.

Please send me a cake!
We'd love to...but it's impossible. There's no way to ship cakes, or cupcakes, while maintaining our standards of freshness & prettiness. You'll just have to come to Pennsylvania, please!

How do I place an order for cookies to be shipped?
Simply call Sweet Things Bakery or email, tell us what you’d like and where you’d like it shipped!  The order needs to be placed at least 7 days in advance to ensure ample time for baking and shipping.  For payment, Sweet Things accepts cash, check and Paypal payments.

I need to cancel an order!
We can generally cancel orders up to 4 days before your delivery date.  For items that are to be shipped, please cancel 7 days in advance.

How do I care for my Springerle?
Springerle cookies will be packaged in gift bags when delivered.  You should transfer your Springerle cookies to an airtight container.  They will keep for months, and improve in taste with age.  Should your cookies accidentally harden, put slices of apple on firm bread in the airtight container with the cookies for a day or so.   Watch and change apple slices if needed to prevent mildewing.

How long will my sugar cookies stay fresh?
Our sugar cookies have a nice long shelf-life, thanks to plenty of butter & tight sealing in gift bags. If kept sealed, they will stay fresh up to 3 weeks after purchase.

I'm getting married!
Congratulations! We love weddings! If you'd like to order something or you'd like to discuss custom options (including favors) please call or email Sweet Things Bakery.

I'm allergic to nuts!
Most of our cakes do not contain nuts, though they are processed in the same bakery as cakes containing nuts. The following products definitely are made with nuts: Glazed Maple Pecan Scones, Pecan Caramel Chocolate Covered Apples, Carrot Cake, Morning Glory Muffins, Nutty Banana Muffins, Cinnamon Pecan Coffee Cake, Pear Walnut Tart, Pecan Pie and Peanut Butter Cookies. To double-check ingredients, please speak with a Sweet Things Bakery representative!

I'm allergic to wheat!
Although most of Sweet Things products contain dairy &/or eggs, we have several Vegan options!  We offer Vegan cupcakes, two types of vegan muffins and a Vegan Layer Cake.  All of these items are dairy and gluten free.

I have more questions!
